
Gov. Rick Perry says Texas will not implement a Medicaid expansion or insurance exchange, joining fellow Republican governors in states such as Wisconsin, Louisiana and Florida who have said they would say no to the two provisions of the federal healthcare law.
Some 6.2 million people are without insurance in Texas, or 24.6 percent of the state population, the highest percentage in the nation.
